I solder the pots at 270 degrees, they are sensitive. The rest at 320 degrees or so. Push button can be soldered maybe at 300 degrees.
Kit parts.
Solder the headers first, the 4 pin header is for a possible expander i might make. Add the jumper on the same place as the picture above, it will provide the 4 outputs with power.
The 2x5 pin header has a cap on it, this can be removed after soldering (its for a pick and place machine to place it)
Add the parts like in the above picture, The big push button has orientation, it has a flat side that is marked on the PCB silkscreen.
The other switches also have orientation, they have a line on the side, this is also marked on the silkscreen. You can als se the orientation on the above picture.
The 2n3904 and 2n3906 can be shrink wrapped together, the shring wrap already shrinks from the heat of the soldering usually.
Add the 101 capacitor (it is a fix for not skipping the first step when using rest).
The LED's have orientation, see above picture. the short leg is also indicated on the silkscreen.
Put all other components in and then solder everything.
Now it should look like this.
Done, now its time to test if everything works, and tune the 1v per octave trimmer to match the correct curve.
I tune the 1v Octave curve by putting all 1,2,3,4 pots to the right, and the top right pot to the left, the CV adjust know to the right. Then connect a 1V octave source to the 1V octave input (<-) and adjust to your ears. Or use a oscilloscope with frequency indication. Or some other tuning device, maybe one for guitars ( i use the oscilloscope method).
I put the smallest knob on the CV adjust pot.
